patchset for rgloader

RGLoader v311 [16202 Support]

Well, here we go again
this release intended to satisfy 16202 demand while we work on the next great thing
and of course because the "Cool Kids" started taking tydye's incomplete patch release, merging fs, and calling it their own version of rgloader
and lastly because it was long past due anyway Smile

You will need .NET Framework 4.0 or 4.5 installed. May also work with Mono.

-Copy rgloader.ini and bootanim.wmv to the root of the hard drive.

-Copy the contents of hdd-filesystems to 'Hdd:\Filesystems\'

-Extract the 0v300 builder rar to a folder.

-Copy 'filesystems' and 'loaders' to the 0v300 builder folder overwriting files/folders.

-Run the launcher and build your nand

-Open the RGBuild Launcher and type in your CPU_Key and select your build options.

-Click the NAND button to browse for your source nand image.

-Click "RGBuilder" button to start the process.

-Output will be next to this file named: Image._____.bin

-Flash this with whatever flash tool you wish.

----------- Prototype NAND Image Editor -----------
Click "RGLoader" button in the launcher, or run rgbuild.exe /ui to open the rgbuild UI, which is a prototype NAND image editor similar to 360 flash tool.
The GUI is still very beta, but should be very functional now. Please reports bugs to #rgloader @ EFNet!

===================Custom Boot Animations=======================
Set 'Boot_Animation_Path = \SystemRoot\RGL_bootanim.xex' in rgloader.ini on your hard drive root, and place a bootanimation wmv on the hard drive root
named bootanim.wmv and it will play this movie file when the xbox boots.

NOTICE:
The only way we were able to load wmvs was by waiting for the kernel to fully load before running the boot animation. This doesn't make a lot of sense, and does increase the boot time
by a few seconds so we are working on a way of replacing the normal one. If you do not like this delay, feel free to switch back to the regular animation by:
-Delete 'Boot_Animation_Path' from rgloader.ini on the hard drive root.
-Set 'disable_bootanim = 0' in options.ini, and rebuild/flash your nand image.
================================================================

=========================Corona RGH=============================
RGLoader has been updated to work with 16MB corona motherboards.
================================================================

=================Retail Profile Encryption======================
This enables use of retail/live profiles on the RGLoader devkit kernel. The devkit kernel handles profiles differently from retail so there is a chance it will
corrupt your profile. This mostly effects live profiles. Do not enable this if you have live profiles on your hard drive! Backup your CONTENT folder first if you
want to experiment Wink

NOTE: This is a beta feature and the bugs will be fixed soon.

Usage:
Set Retail_Profile_Encryption = 1 under [Expansion] in rgloader.ini
================================================================

======================JTAG Support==============================
When building a jtag image, you must supply an already jtagged NAND. This way any customizations
to your SMC will be kept and also if your crc does not match it will not matter. (this will not be neccesary in final release)
NOTE: When an already patched SMC is supplied, the builder will say (unable to patch). Just ignore this.

XELL HAS BEEN ADDED TO JTAG IMAGES! Smile
================================================================

================Flexible Systemroot Patches=====================
(hard drive free installs!)

We have added a new feature to replace the E90 error that gets thrown when the hard drive is missing or files have been misnamed.
If any errors occur during its attempt to remap systemroot to the hard drive (wrong folder name, hdd unplugged, etc..) it will boot into
minimal NAND only mode where the devkit launcher dashboard will still boot.

This means that a hard drive is not neccesary to run RGLoader! This also means that you can just flash the image on and use minimal mode to copy
and setup the hard drive files for the full installation using xbox neighborhood.

It is not recommended to use the minimal mode, but it does work.
================================================================

=====================DUMMY KV Generation========================
To protect you from getting your keyvaults banned, we have added an option to options.ini for creating a
temporary dummy KV. This sometimes introduces a lag when going to the dashboard and some xex caused by the
xbox live connection timeout. If this annoys you, just disable it in options.ini and we will get it fixed soon.
================================================================

\_____________________|- GREETINGS -|_________________________/

RGLoader was started from the foundations left by others.
We hold no claim to researching everything used in rgloader.
It's thanks to the work of the amazing people below that we got anywhere:

tmbinc, almost every 360 tool owes you for your initial work. although
we may be -FAR- away from your intended goals, we'd still like to thank
you for your amazing work and the example you set for a good reverse engineerer.

The 360 Flash Tool team, thanks for your amazing tool which has
helped many people, many times over. My only gripe is that it's
not open, maybe one day.

GliGli, Tiros, and co., I'm sure anybody with a glitched console should
know the work you all put in. I hope recent releases won't deter you
from continuing to contribute to the scene with your work.

Tuxuser, Cancerous, sk1080, and Juvenal for their work on open source, legal homebrew.

Big thanks to cOz for tips and hints and for the work he has contributed
to the scene.

jsjar for graphics and dash skin.

m0j0j0_j0 for RGLauncher skin and icons.

Razkar for the news on Homebrew-Connection.org and the release videos

Thanks to Tortuga Cove for providing news updates and hosting services.

Thanks to team-xecuter & xconsoles for donating a xenon jtag! RGLoader JTAG would not exist without this.

What Will You Make with RGLoader?

XShell launch at soft reset

$

Hi there,

is it possible that whenever you exit a homebrew or use the Xbox-Button+Y to automatically launch XShell. I currently can only acces XShell with a reset (shutdown and boot) or via XexMenu.

I would like to return every time to XShell instead of the Metro Dash. I didn't found a thread or an option in the rgloader.ini.

Hi, first of all thanks to all who created rgloader, as a new developer is amazing to see the code running on the console, testing it and debugging it.

Now to the problem, i have a 4gb slim, trinity board (RGH2 according to dashlaunch) and I'm trying to get the kinect update, i have already installed the latest RGL with the updates installed on the hard drive from FreeBoot 16202, but i can't get it to work, i have flashed my xbox like a 30 times and nothing, if someone knows a way to fix this please help, Thanks.

RGLoader 0v400 (16537 support)

$

Decided to release my updates to RGLoader because of increased demand lately. I have been lacking testers lately so I am going to go ahead and release the builder and files and hope that everyone will leave feedback if they run into any problems.

THE BUILD PROCESS HAS CHANGED
If you are going to use this and don't want to brick your xbox, you MUST read the readme.txt included in the builder rar.

Once I receive enough feedback from this builder, I will release a separate utility that builds nand images for big block jaspers. All filesystems are on the nand, no hard drive required Wink

UPDATE: Fixed issue with xell loading on slims, sorry bout that Wink

RGLoader 0v400
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
\_Release Notes:_\\

A lot of people have thought that RGLoader has been dead/abandoned. Yeah, basically it's
been dead for a while now mostly because Stoker has been gone for over a year so there was
only one real developer for RGLoader and real life stuff gets in the way. I've gotta put out
a big thank you to sk1080 for releasing a usable version of RGLoader for 16202 while I've
been gone. In either case, saying that RGLoader is dead really does not make a lot of sense
when we have tried to make it as open as possible without sharing code that was donated by
people who don't want it running out in the wild yet. RGBuild.exe is not obfuscated in any
way and can be completely decompiled to source with .net reflector. The patches are provided
in plain text and compiled when you run the image which should allow anyone to be able to
update them for a new kernel. All you would have to do is use the existing file structures
as a guide to add support for a new update. This said, there is no reason that some random
person would not be able to change RGBuild for their own purpose or for a new kernel.

RGBuild++ was another project started by stoker and abandoned and left to me to finish, and
there's still quite a bit of work to be done on it before it's ready for a release. I felt
bad releasing an update using the RGBuild everyone is familiar with when I have promised
new features like jasper big block support. It's hard to devote the amount of time and effort
needed to finish something like this when the xbox scene is slowing down and interest in
alternative nand builders is low. This doesn't mean that I haven't been updating RGLoader for
my own uses and adding features, it just means I didn't feel like putting in the effort to
make it usable for the general public and releasing.

I've seen a lot more activity in the #RGloader channel on EFNet and on the forum with
people asking for a new update. I have no problem putting the work in when I know it's not
going to waste, so these past couple weeks I have been porting some of the new features in
RGBuild++ to this older builder just so you guys can enjoy what we have so far and run a much
more stable kernel.

I'd like to conclude with, don't be fooled and think that just because the builder looks
the same that the xbox side hasn't changed. Please try out some of the new features added
and PLEASE leave feedback in the shoutbox at rgloader.com with any problems or successes you
have had. This lets us know that there are still people out there that have use for a devkit
kernel on a retail xbox.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
\_RGLoader NEW Features:_\\

-- Avatar File Installer --

Thanks to cOz and his badass system extended partition installer code,
RGLoader.xex now supports creating and formatting the hard drive partitions
for the avatar update files. Included in the hdd filesystem files is a $SystemUpdate
folder. If RGLoader detects that this folder exists, it will reinitialize the
partitions and automatically copy the files to it. It usually requires a reboot
after the installation for the avatars to start showing up in the dashboard.

-- HV Peek Poke --

A peek poking patch has been added to the hypervisor. It uses the same call format that
Freeboot uses with syscall0.

-- RGLoader Plugin Loading --

Options have been added to RGLoader.ini for loading plugins in the same format that
dashlaunch handles. They are essentially just system dlls so you can use them for
whatever purpose you wish.

Format:
[Plugins]
Plugin1 = Hdd:\Plugin1blah.xex
Plugin2 =
Plugin3 =

-- RGLP Loading at runtime --

Not really a new feature, but not many people knew about this before. During system
initialization RGLoader.xex will scan the systemroot for any .rglp files and will apply
them to the kernel/xam/whatever the address is for. They are a standard patch format
[Addr][numberofpatches][startpatches..]. There is a file named rglXam.rglp in the
hdd filesystems folder which you can open with a hex editor and use an example. This
feature is useful for testing extra patches without having to completely reflash your
nand image.

-- KDNet for Jtags --

KDNet is kernel debugging over lan. It is basically like
xbwatson on crack. It shows post codes and runs even before
xbdm.xex gets launched. This utility is extremely useful
for debugging problems in the kernel, and also inserting
breakpoints and debugging xex modules running on the system.

Developers who create trainers and such will find this very useful.

In the past, using xbsetcfg to setup KDNet for jtags would
corrupt the nand image and brick the xbox because it overwrites
important info where the jtag payload is stored. This issue
has been fixed in RGLoader.

The most exciting thing about the latest RGBuild update is
that when you build your nand image it detects the computers
local IP address and sets up KDNet for the nand. This is very useful
because if your xbox fails to boot or has problems, you do not need
a uart cable or a post sniffer to figure out what the problem is.
Simply hook your ethernet cable into your xbox and run KDNet and the
problem will be obvious and easy to fix usually.

Make sure you have the SDK installed (xbox neighborhood) and run one
of the provided bat files (KDNet_win7.bat / KDNet_win8.bat) and turn
on your xbox.

-- Memory Protection Options --

In the past there have been problems when running certain utilities
made for retail kernel on RGLoader, such as trainers for games.
This was caused by the xex being compiled to use memcpy instead of DmSetMemory.
A lot of trainers have already been updated to fix this issue, but there
is now an option which will disable the memory protection in this
devkit kernel in the same way it is disabled in retail.
This fixes most problems with trainers and such.
In options.ini set NOMEMPROT = 1

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had everything install on my xenon and running fine. Then one day i decided to sell it on ebay but i was going to keep my hard drive to use on my retail. So i pulled the xbox hdd off and formatted it to my retail xbox. well now when i turn on the jtag it boots fine but just stays on black screen. I can hear that it started and see the light ring spin. Do i need to just install the file systems folder to the root again for it to work? It aslo doesnt have xell so i don't know what to do now.

Alright so here's what happened

Nothing...

No for real nothing happened.

It updated fine, runs perfectly. No problems whatsoever from me. However...

I noticed a couple days later that it would not connect to my internet. Now before you tell me, "Check your modem and/or router bud" I already did that. I even tested the same internet settings with my retail slim. I then went even further and tested the same internet settings on a regular 16537 nand and it connected just fine. Also, I can not switch over to wireless when using RGLoader. I unplug my Ethernet cable and it still says that it plugged in. Besides that, everything is fine. I just really want to fix that so I can get back to trainer development. If this is the wrong section for the above problem, let me know and I'll be more than happy to have someone move it. Thanks everyone.

XDevLaunch v0.0.1 coming soon!?!

$

XDevLaunch v0.0.1
(kinda biting off the dashlaunch name but couldnt think of anything else fitting lol)

is an application primarily made for setting the default boot path on XDK and dev kernel consoles

Primary functions to date:
*Set default boot path via keyboard input
*Set default boot path via text file content
*Set default boot path via built in file browser
*Launches all xex executables via built in file browser
*Loads "Trainer.xex" files into memory without the need of a "launcher.xex"

here are a couple videos of it from early POC to a current demo vid

very early poc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqIYrfonrRM

at one point I wanted to have a 3-d bkg so I did some testing using elements of the dolphin sample,
quickly choose not to do this based on performance lol (no the sound is not the actual app sound, my recorder jacked up the audio so I put yt edit track over it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr6TPMtu3pU

current demo

please keep in mind that everything about this app is no where near final, the skin, the layout etc all just done enough for testing and demos, I will of course be crediting those who I used bits of code from (TeamFSD for 1.2 filebrowser, smc files)

Please answer the poll on this thread to help me decide where to go with this project, thank you for reading Wink

Developed using my RGLoader consoles (primary coding and testing) and my XDK (for UI auditioning)

QuickBrowse360
(Simple file browser/launcher for x360)

İmage

While working on another application of mine it dawned on me that there has never been a public application that is a bare bones browser/launcher, all the known apps have FTP,plugins, etc.

QuickBrowse360 is exactly the opposite, it is a bare bones browser/launcher for those that just want simple! (which I know is very few, but it was fun to make) Tongue

Features:
Browse all files on all drives
Launches xex files , xbe files , and xbla containers

Thanks and creds to TeamFSD for some code bits from good old FSD1.2

Enjoy,
begalbrew

Some questions about trainers and the RGLoader

$

Are trainers built per specific game?
If so are they hard to make?
Are they coded in C#?
What is UIAudition and how does that relate to a trainer?

In RGLoader can I change the reference names of weapons and add weapons to different classes if they were not there before hand?
